1. DVDx: new release 2.7 (GUI and DLLs)
Following on the success of DVDx 2.6 release, we're proud to announce the availability of DVDx 2.7 release, uploaded on labDV server and DVDx web site (soon on Source Forge server, but Starbuck needs to reconfigure its SF upload access).
What's new in 2.7
Third-party DLLs:
- nLame.dll 3.97 Final (Intel 9.1 compile)
- libmmd.dll 9.1 (Intel 9.1 compile
GUI enhancements:
- Changed Open DVD root menu behavior, now display a Windows XP new style file explorer dialog, initialized with last directory used by DVDx. Thus it's no longer annoying to change DVD drive for multiple drive computers or multiple DVDs ripped on hard drive.
- Now display MPEG (VOB) file name without path in the MPEG2 file scanning progress window (required for long path current for DVDs ripped on hard drive).
Download:
- DVDx standard version "ripper free" (and source code) available from DVDx download archives.
- DVDx Ultra Edition (or 2.7 binaries) available from DVDx download page for VIP members only.
2. DVDx: new DVDx web site design and structure
Jim has revamped the DVDx web site to expose more clearly DVDx software:
The developer area still need to be completed, first will be an help to setup a compilation platform (Visual Studio 2005, DirectX SDK, Windows Platform SDK Windows Media SDK etc.). So it will help to reinforce the developer work and will be great benefit for users.
Download links, including Ultra Edition (which requires a labDV VIP Pass to log in MyDVDx) are now all available from synthetic pages, see http://www.labdv.com./dvdx/download.php
3. Software: RipIt4Me a nice complement to DVDx
RipIt4Me is a freeware utility that helps you backup your copy protected DVDs.
Recently released DVDs are now very often equipped with stronger copy protections - such as ARccOS™ and RipGuard DVD. Programs like DVDx, DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter cannot handle these types of discs.
With the help of RipIt4Me, ripping these DVDs will be a very easy task. The program is fully automated and the wizard will guide you through all the necessary steps involved. If you prefer, there is also a true "1-Click" mode that will perform all the involved steps automatically for you.
RipIt4Me offers a wizard mode and a 1-click mode so is very easy to use. It's also a front end for DVD Decrypter and FixVTS which you'll have to install as well.
Please refer to the official RipIt4Me Guide and FAQ for more information on how to use this program.
Download RipItForMe, FixVTS, DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and DVDx from labDV server.

With a VIP Pass, you'll access the whole labDV library, a lot of Digital Video articles and how-to's as well as a huge Digital Video software database, most of them are free. And you will navigate DVDx web site as MyDVDx and all its features.
The 1-Year VIP Pass is only US$ 39.90 (€29.90) and joining us is a strong support for all our efforts such as our ambitious new 2007-2008 roadmap for DVDx!
And you can also currently join us for US$19.90 (€14.90) for a 3-months VIP Pass.
From time to time , we're sustaining our continuous efforts to develop DVDx software so the 1-Year Pass is likely the best deal for now.
